I took my 2002 in today for its first checkup, and asked if it would get a valve adjustment. The service mechanic said it wouldnt need one till at least 4,000 miles. With only 700 miles on yours it should still be on warranty. Take it back to the dealer, state your concerns and let them check it out. Do it yourself, screw it up, and your up a shitcreek without a paddle
